![]() Galiano IslandGaliano Island was named for Dionisio Alcala-Galiano, a Spanish naval officer and explorer. In 1792, in search of the fabled Northwest passage, he circumnavigated Vancouver Island and his reports glowed with descriptions of the primeval beauty of the islands. The Woodstone InnNearly two hundred years later, Gail Nielsen-Pich left her airline career behind and came to Galiano. A decade on she continues to enjoy her role as host and chef to guests of the Woodstone. |
